The one-day festival is in its sixth year having started from humble beginnings in 2011.The whole town is sure to come alive with the sound of Jazz pouring from each of our venues… The organizing body “The Autumn Jazz collective” have a mission statement:

“To promote and enhance the cultural experience through alternative music and art in the heart of Balbriggan”…….

Art is supplied in the form of a pop up art gallery in Molly’s Coffee Gallery where patrons can browse through a selection of Jazz related images designed especially for the occasion. The collective also release a limited-edition lithograph with a unique design print created by local artist Alison O’Grady specific to each years event. The introduction of art goes back to 19th century Moulin Rouge where art and music went hand in hand.

The one-day event receives tremendous support from the Fingal County Council through their Events Unit. Local establishments and venues have rallied around the Jazz festival and are great supporters of the day also, “It’s great that local venues pro-actively came forward seeking to be involved in the festival” a spokesperson for the organisers stated. This year the organisers are especially delighted with the involvement through Fingal County Council of Ardgillan Castle who are hosting the fantastic Pat Collins in the unique setting of the Castles Drawing Room and hope this will be the beginning of a special relationship for the event.

The music of course is the main attraction of the day and the organisers like in previous years certainly managed to line up an impressive array of talent.

Autumn Jazz brings a feast of live music events to several Balbriggan venues.  A wonderful day of music & visual arts combined with a Jazz Trail through the seaside town of Balbriggan.

“So Cool Cats, get a jump’n and a jive’n Autumn Jazz is back. Take down the date November 6th, Balbriggan gets its glad rags on, get yourself downtown for any or all our live jazz sessions.”
