Tidy Towns Competition
May 3rd 2015
Balrothery Community Council Members & Residents
As a community we have to come together and ensure the future of our village we need to demonstrate our ability to work together to maintain the Village identity, we need to put our shoulders to the wheel and get some projects done. It is only when Fingal County Council see our commitment and effort they will begin to match it
The next Community Council Meeting will be held on May 12th at 7pm in the Heritage Centre. The main focus of attention on the night will be the support of the Tidy Village Committee. We need to ensure all interested members of the community are given the opportunity to be involved in the committee, we need to invite as many volunteers as possible to coordinate projects. . I want to call on the whole community of the Village of Balrothery, If you want to be join the committee or volunteer to help with projects us join us on May 12th.
Following this meeting it is hoped we will have completed the following:
- Committee is meeting regularly and all who want to be involved are given the opportunity to join.
- Tidy Towns Entry Forms Completed.
- Several Projects are decided upon and project leaders identified.
- Biweekly Clean Ups
- Key Projects/tasks e.g. weeding, litter, sweeping.
- Adopt a patch, flower beds, watering etc.
- Tidy towns Communication Strategy, future meetings.
To get everyone involved I propose over the weekend we conduct Door to Door Collection & Recruitment. We draw up a list of canvassers to call to every house in Balrothery seeking out help for the Tidy Village, Householders can contribute either Time or Money or Both.
Please forward this email to friends, family or community members you believe would wish to help out.
