Spring clean 2018

Spring Clean Day 2018

National Spring Clean Day is being held in Balrothery Village on Saturday 7th April. Volunteers are meeting at the Heritage Green at 10am. All residents of Balrothery are invited to participate.

Balrothery Tidy Towns Group are asking for volunteers to come out on the day.   We will supply gloves, bags etc.  wear old clothes and sturdy shoes.  We would love to see a really good turn as this is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in your community.  National Spring Clean is Ireland’s most popular, well recognized and successful anti-litter initiative.

We are also encouraging the residents in all the Estates in Balrothery to organize a group for cleaning up where they live.  Again, we will support you by supplying gloves, bags and will organize the collection of your litter.  Please let us know your clean up plans by emailing tidyvillage@balrothery.com

It would also make a difference if on an ongoing basis everyone looked after the area outside of their own house, picking up litter, cleaning pathways and road curbes and keeping weeds at bay.

Of course the litter picking and cleaning doesn’t stop after the 7th we are desperately in need of support all year round especially at this time heading into summer as we prepare our Tidy Towns  Competition entry for 2018.  The entry is sent by 24th May and judging starts June/July so you can see how important it is to have our village looking its very best.

Look forward to hearing from you and also meeting you on the 7th April.
